Ankara Car Rental Guide for Photo and Video Shooting: Practical Solutions for Content Creators and Production Teams
Ankara Car Rental Guide for Photo and Video Shooting: Practical Solutions for Content Creators and Production Teams
Ankara, as the capital and one of the largest cities of Turkey, offers unique opportunities for both content creators and professional shooting teams. The city's modern face, historical texture, and extensive transportation network provide an ideal ground for photo and video shoots. However, one of the most common problems faced by shooting teams and social media content creators is the transportation of equipment, costumes, and personnel. At this very point, Ankara car rental services come into play.
As Fores Car Rental, we have prepared a special guide for content creators, photographers, vloggers, advertising agencies, and film crews planning to shoot in Ankara. In this article, we will discuss in detail the advantages of shoot-oriented car rental, things to consider, and the best shooting routes in Ankara.
Why Is Car Rental Logical for Shooting Teams?
A professional shoot is not limited to just camera and light. Dozens of equipment such as reflectors, softboxes, tripods, jibs, drone bags, costume hangers, and makeup materials must be with you throughout the shooting day. If you don't have your own vehicle or the existing vehicle becomes insufficient as the team grows, Ankara car rental becomes the most practical and economical solution.
Equipment Safety and Luggage Volume
A rental car, especially SUV or station wagon models, allows you to safely transport your photo and video equipment. Hard-case lens bags, light stands, and large equipment like generators can be easily placed in vehicles with large luggage capacity. Thus, the risk of equipment being hit or compressed is minimized. Additionally, keeping the interior temperature under control is critical for the lifespan of sensitive electronic devices.
Crew and Costume Transportation
In advertising shoots or social media productions, multiple costumes, accessories, and makeup materials are used. The cast crew's comfortable arrival on set is also important for the production to start on time. A rental car with a spacious interior meets all these needs in one go and prevents delays in arrival times at the set.
Flexible Route Changes
Ankara is spread over a wide geography. You can shoot in Kızılay in the morning and plan a drone shoot by Eymir Lake in the afternoon. In the evening, you can shoot sunset scenes in Beypazarı. Thanks to the rental car, you have the freedom to move quickly and independently between routes. It is almost impossible to achieve this flexibility with public transport or taxis.
Best Rental Car Models for Photo and Video Shoots in Ankara
Different vehicle types can be preferred according to the shooting purpose. Here are the most suitable options for content creators:
SUV Rental: Large Volume and High Comfort
For professional shooting teams, SUV rental Ankara is one of the most popular options. It is preferred due to its high luggage capacity, spacious rear seat distance, and superior performance in poor road conditions. When heading to out-of-town locations like Eymir Lake, Mogan Lake, or Beypazarı, SUV models promise a safe drive. Additionally, the high driving position offers different angles for in-car shots.
Luxury Car Rental: For VIP and Brand Shoots
If you are producing content for premium brands or need to transport a client to the set in VIP style, luxury car rental Ankara services are just for you. Black or white sedans create backgrounds compatible with brand identity and increase production value. The interior details of luxury cars can also be used in product placement shots.
Economy Car Rental: For Individual Content Creators
If you are producing content alone for YouTube, Instagram Reels, or TikTok, economy car rental options will get the job done without straining your budget. Sedan models with small trunks will be sufficient for light equipment sets and solo shoots. Daily car rental service keeps costs low for day shoots.
Locations to Shoot in Ankara and Vehicle Access
Ankara is a city of diversity that offers both historical and modern venues to content creators. Here are the ideal locations for shooting:
Kızılay and Kavaklıdere: The Modern Face of the City
Kızılay is the heart of Ankara and its most vibrant area. Modern buildings, wide boulevards, and bustling human traffic are ideal for dynamic urban shoots. Access by car is easy, and thanks to nearby parking lots, unloading equipment becomes practical. In the evening hours, neon lights and lively nightlife create impressive story-format content.
Anıtkabir: A Historical and Respectable Background
Anıtkabir offers a powerful visual background not only for Turkey but also for international productions. Wide stairs, monumental architecture, and impressive statues create striking frames. Access by car is possible up to the Lion Road, and nearby parking lots are available. The large area provides an advantage for drone shots. For more information about Anıtkabir, you can check the routes of General Directorate of Highways of Turkey.
Eymir Lake and Mogan Lake: Nature and Drone Shots
Despite being close to the city center, Eymir and Mogan lakes, which offer natural beauties, are great especially for sunset shots and drone flights. By renting an SUV or a passenger car, you can easily reach these locations and capture impressive images at zero points by the lake. Autumn colors and foggy mornings create a captivating atmosphere in these areas.
Beypazarı: Authentic Historical Texture
Beypazarı, 100 kilometers from Ankara, is an impressive shooting set with restored Ottoman houses, narrow streets, and traditional handicraft workshops. Going by rental car is the most logical transportation method for day-trip shooting plans. The daily life of local people offers rich material for documentary-style content.
Oran, Çayyolu, and Çukurambar: Luxury and Modern Living
These neighborhoods, with modern residences, luxury restaurants, and stylish cafes, are suitable for premium lifestyle shoots. With luxury car rental options, you can do brand collaboration shoots in these areas. Clean streets and organized parking lots make it easy to carry shooting equipment.
Pre-Shoot Vehicle and Equipment Preparation Process
A professional shoot is won in the preparation phase. After receiving your rental car, you should make the following preparations:
Trunk Organization and Equipment Placement
When placing lens bags, tripods, and lighting equipment in the trunk, consider weight balance. Heavy devices should be placed on the trunk floor, and light and fragile equipment in the upper compartments. Rubber non-slip mats prevent equipment from sliding during sudden braking.
In-Car Charging and Power Needs
On long shooting days, camera batteries, phones, gimbal batteries, and lighting units drain quickly. Thanks to an in-car inverter or powerful USB outputs, you can charge your devices during journeys between locations. This small detail prevents the shoot from being interrupted.
Navigation and Location Planning
Considering the size of Ankara, it is essential to calculate the distance and traffic conditions between shooting locations in advance. In the morning hours, Kızılay traffic is heavy, and in the late afternoon, there is congestion towards Çankaya. Optimize the location order according to traffic flow. For Ankara traffic and transportation information, you can follow the resources of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.
Seasonal Shooting Strategies and Vehicle Selection
Ankara offers different atmospheres in all four seasons. Vehicle selection and shooting route should be changed according to the season:
Spring and Autumn: Golden Seasons
Mild coolness, colorful leaves, and soft light make these seasons ideal for shooting. Economy sedan rental is sufficient for urban routes. Weather conditions are the most favorable period for outdoor portrait and fashion shoots.
Summer Months: Early Starting Shoots
In summer, the light becomes harsh in Ankara at noon. It is necessary to start shooting early in the morning and take a break in the afternoon. Spacious air-conditioned vehicles protect equipment and the crew from the heat during these rest periods.
Winter Months: Fog and Snow Atmosphere
Ankara winters are known for cold and foggy mornings. This atmosphere is unique for dramatic and emotional scenes. Vehicles with winter tires and heated seats offer comfort and safety in winter shoots.
Car Rental Tactics for Social Media Content Creators
For influencers and creators producing content alone, a rental car is not just a means of transportation but also a production studio:
Vlog and Story Formats
Vlogs shot from inside the car are an effective way to establish a sincere connection with followers. Using a wide-angle lens and a suction cup camera mount, you can safely shoot in-car footage. Renting an automatic transmission car makes steering control easier in such shoots, and the driver can focus on the camera.
Product Promotion and Unboxing
If you are promoting a new tech product, an SUV with massage seats or a spacious rear seat can provide an aesthetic unboxing background. When natural daylight enters through the window, product details appear more distinct.
Podcast and Interview Recordings
For content creators looking for a closed and isolated environment, a rental car can serve as a mobile podcast studio. Modern vehicles with moderate sound insulation are a lifesaver for urgent recording needs. Microphone and audio interface setup can be easily done in the back seat.
